This week is just full of news from around the NFL, this new piece may actually be the saddest news the NFL has heard in quite some time. John Madden, NFL announcer for the past 3 decades has retired from the booth.

Ahhh! That was a mini orgasmatron my friends, the big news in the world today, besides pirates messing everyones shit up in somalia, is the release of the NFL's 2009 Regular season schedule. And no offense to all the other teams out there but I don't really give a crap about you, just the Bears. As far as I'm concerned thats all that really matters, for the other games I will see whats on each week and watch what catches my interest, ahh but who the Bears play each week, well thats important to me. And let us think about this nugget, the Bears have the easiest schedule of all NFL teams, the road to the playoffs is becoming a heckuva lot easier for da bears the past few weeks. Another bonus for me? at this time 5 prime time games and each game prior to week4 against the Lions doesn't start until 4:20 or later, that has the potential for a lot of Bears games to view. The Bears are slated to have 3 sunday night games, and One Monday and Thursday night game. The sunday nighters are against the rival Packers, a rematch of one of last years most exciting games against the Falcons, and a rematch of anopther exciting game agaisnt the Eagles (3rd year in a row they've played each other). Of course the match I am most anticipating/Dreading is the Steeler @ Bears game in week 2. I will be quite alone that week as the whole of SRU will be against me. But anyways football fans rejoice the 2009 season approches quickly

Lets Play Ball!

America's Pass-Time is offically back everyone, on April 6th the 2009 Major League Baseball season kicked off. And In case anyone was wondering, I am a Cubs fan, now I am not a huge baseball fan, and Barely know the players on the cubs roster, and don't even ask me about previous Cubs players cause knowledge of them is limited at best. But I am a fan of the MLB's most loveable losers. But this post really isn't about them, all though I will probably talk about their futility sooner or later in a post. No this post is about how baseball is actually a very exciting game, and it's easy to see why it recieved the moniker of America's pass-time. Now for anyone that has watched Baseball on TV we probably both realize, it maybe the most boring sprots event to be put on tv, and if not the most boring deffinatly top 3 (I'm looking at you Golf and NASCAR) but thats ok because Baseball has the unique ability of being a sport better viewed live then on TV. I've been to the big 4 sports events in person (Baseball, Basketball, Football, and Hockey) and Baseball has by far been the most enjoyable live. To starty off anywhere you sit in a baseball stadium is a good seat and you can really tell whats going on (except if it's a pitch or strike but your going to think its one or the other depending whoes batting anyways) but other than that the whole field is open to view, and you can tell what is happening. But in the other sports, especially basketball and Football, depending on where your seats are you can never really tell how great a play was, and in basketball anywhere besides mid court you can never teall whats going on. But in baseball you always know whats happening, also in baseball there is just something about the atmosphere, the ball park is a place to just go and relax. On TV the slow pace of the game is painful, when you are at the park, the laziness of the game works perfectly, just sit back and relaz and enjoy the game. Then of course there's the interaction in baseball, in all the other sports there is very little chance there is any fan involvment, sure maybe a basketball player dives into the crowd, but those seats are so expensive somebody rich or famous is alread there, in hockey the plexiglass seperates the fans, in football they even put up nets to make sure fans don't get kicked balls. But in baseball, home runs are common place and foul balls are routinly thrown to fans. And of course lets not forget even more importantly how fans affect the game, I'm looking at you Steve Bartman and Eric Detweiler. But anyways, Baseball is an American Tradition and I can see why, I can't wait to go see a few ball games this summer.

Bears and a Good QB?

Ah, so many new posts so soon! I can't believe I didn't comment on this when it happened, but after arguably 60 years with out a decent QB the Bears have a star. Jay Cutler the cannon armed QB was traded to the Bears from Denver. Denver recieved 2 first rounders (2009 and 2010) a third rounder (2009) and Former Bears starter Kyle Orton. The Bears Recieved Jay Cutler and the Broncos' Fifth round pick. So I can honestly say this seems too good to be true, Not since the days of Sid Luckman have the Bears been this scary (in a good way) at the QB position. With the addition of Cutler the Bears O has become dynamic, Matt Forte was scary good his rookie season and that was with opposing D's loading the box to stop him because there was no passing threat, and with another year under his belt, and Cutler under center the running game is even better. The O-line has gone through an overhaul, as Orlando Pace, the Veteran from St. Louis, was signed to sure up the left side, this leaves 2008's first Rounder Chris Williams to develop at on the Right side (which is an easier position to dominated at then Left Tackle) Olin Kreutz is still the rock at center and the Guards are young, but have veteran leadership to help round out a pretty deep O-line that may not be as bad as some make it out to be. The defense, while getting older should see a positive impact from Cutler as the Offense can now stay on the field longer and allow the D to rest a bit, Urlacher is keeping it strong in the middle, and Tommie Harris, Alex Brown, and Company should be improved on the line.

Not everything for the Bears is honket dory though, The secondary is painfully old and the loss of Mike Brown doesn't make things better. The recivers are also unproven as Devin Hester is the number 1 guy right now, and he really should be a return specialist and be brought in as the x factor on certain plays, he loses something trying to be a bonafide reciver. Earl Bennet and Rashied Davis will be batlling for number 2, Bennet played with Cutler and Vanderbilt, but they will both need to reconnect and Bennet needs to see the field (he did not play in '08). But it isn't hard to believe that Drafting a reciever in the second round, a couple d-backs in the third round and looking for the diamonds in the rough at the D-line position later in the draft and the Bears would be sleepers for the Super Bowl, as they are right now, They are the Sexy pick to win the north, and I am on the bandwagon.

Cosmic Bitch Slap

Sooo....It has been far too long since I've posted and even longer since that a post hasn't run down a list of something I enjoy. So it might be important to catch everyone (all 3 people) up on what has been going on in my life. (And let me tell you it's quite a tale). Well first off, I am caught up academically here at SRU, and Will be a full fledged senior come fall of 2009, unfortunatly, I may not be in school. But more on that later. After nearly 3 years of thinking I would be at good ol' SRU for at least an extra semester, I have found out that I will be able to graduate with my fellow class of '06 mates and become the class of '10. Alas, with all that was looking up in my life the things that are greater than I decided to send me back to eartn in a big way. On April 1st I made a choice that altered my future forever. To sum it up I have been charged with Furnishing Minors with Alcohol, and That charge will keep me from becoming a teacher, and SRU has a minimum 1 semester suspension for that charge. So I will be forced to leave school for a semester and come back a semester behind, again. Now that isn't bad by it-self, but coupled with the fact that I will not be able to become a teacher seriously alters what I plan on doing with my life. One, what can I do with a history degree? Not a heckuva lot. So depending on what the court system does I will be left graduating in December of 2010, with esentially a useless degree. Hard times if I ever saw them, but I will not despair (I just realized I have no idea how to spell that word), because If the charges are reduced I can have them exsopunged from my record and I will be able to become a teacher still, and If they aren't changed, well two new options open up to me, maybe they will both be intertwined. With my degree I could head down to DC and work in many of t=Americas finest museums, or if I feel extra daring attend school for another 4-6 years and become Dr. Nishan Thomas Garabedian, and then I will be able to teach again, but this time at College, a bit more prestigious (I really stink at this "English" stuff). So lets recap, my life was going swell, the cosmos Biotch-Slap me and now I am picking up the pieces and moving forward again. So maybe in 2015 or so I will become the first PhD in my family which is, in itself, something that I can get excited about. But we will see what the future holds for me, so Bring it on Cosmos, Mr. Garabedian is coming back for more!

Pee your pants funny

So last night I was bored, a party I was going to go to was getting busted as I pulled up so I made a U-turn and headed back to the dorm. What to do I thought? Video-Games? no thats for tomorrows boredom. Reading for class? Haha, not yet. Watch TV? Nothing's on, dang-it! So it finally came down to play around on the internet aka look for movies to watch online. Well I go to my favorite site for such activities, and I couldn't think of any movies that I wanted to watch so I just start scrolling through the movies when I come across history of the world part 1. It's a movie by Mel Brooks and the plot of the movie is described right there in the title. Now I planed to watch this movie, until I found the quality of the video was poor, unwatcheably poor. But I viewed long enough to come across a clip that had me literally LOL. Here's the exact moment where I giggled like a school girl History of the World part 1. I hoped you watched it to know what I find funny, people being ridicously over the top.

TO's New Home

To all my football fans, TO is on the market. The cowboys released the outspoken reciever earlier this week, in a move that Jerry Jones claimed was to save cap space. Right. Owens signed a 3 year deal last year and it seemed he would be a cowboy for the rest of his career.

TO has had quite the storied career, Playing second fiddle to the Great Jerry Rice TO has paved himself a hall of fame worthy career, his 139 career reciving TDs are second all time in NFL history, he's 5th on recieving yards list, and 6th on the receptions list. He also owns the record for receptions in a game with 20, which happened during Jerry Rice's final game as a 49er. He is one of the best recievers to play the game, if you look at the stats. But his antics off the field have sullied his career. In San Fran he was openly critical of QB Jeff Garcia, and it pushed Jeff out of SF as well as himself. In Philly one year after he helped carry the eagles to the Super Bowl Owens again questioned his QB and was pushed out of town heading to Dallas. TO helped the Cowboys be one of the NFC's top teams during his first 2 years there, but this past season the bad TO reared his ugly head and criticized Tony Romo and Jason Witten. So Jerry Jones pulled the trigger and has sent TO packing.

So the most important question today is where will TO land next? There is no question TO is still extremly talented and when he isn't complaining about his teammates he's one player you'd love to have on your team, because he is an all around reciever, he'll go over the middle, he'll block he'll draw coverage away from other players. But TO is TO and you're taking the good with the bad with the guy. So lets run down a list of teams that would benifit from the TO experiance.

1. Miami- Bill Parcells was last coaching in Dallas with TO, and TO was well behaved, the relationship was icy but it worked, and with Miami showing progress, an explosive playmaker on Offense outside of Ronnie Brown, would do wonder to make Miami a powerhouse again.

2. New England- Bill Belicheck has a knack for getting the most out of any player. And also reining in troubled wideouts IE Randy Moss, So TO in NE would be a scary situation for any and all opposing teams.

3. Baltimore- The Ravens are always in need of some offense and TO would be the proven playmaker they need. Although exposing young Joe Flacco to Owens may be detrimental to his career.

4. Oakland- The Raiders are home to NFL outcasts and Al Davis would be more than pleased to have a homerun hitter on offense. JaMarcus Russels big arm would intruige TO.

5. Chicago- As much as it would pain me to see the Bears expose themselves to TO the idea of the Bears having a legit receiving threat might put them back into playoff form.

Those are just a few teams, and excluding Philadelphia, Arizona, the 49ers, and maybe 3 others any Team would benifit from TO's services.

So any NFL team that is willing to risk signing TO realize that he will undoubtly help your team in the shor run, but in the long run bad TO will show up and hurt your team chemistry, but wherever he lands in '09 it will be fun to watch

*With in a few hours of this post TO signed a deal with the BUffalo Bills. This move makes sense but was surprising, lets see if TO can get the Bills over the hump!
